You dont have to keep holding it all together
If you’re used to getting through the day on autopilot, it can be hard to remember what it feels like to pause and think clearly. At my woodland cabin in Caerphilly, I offer women a calm, compassionate space to breathe, rest and remember who they are beneath their roles and responsibilities.
Rest isn’t something you have to earn. It’s something you need.
It helps us navigate this demanding modern world without depleting ourselves.
And you are worth it, right now, exactly as you are.
You’ve probably heard: “I don't know how you do it all” more than once
And maybe from the outside, it looks like you have it all together. You've got the job, the home, the family — the life that ticks the boxes society told you equal success and happiness. But in doing all of that, you've become so consumed by your roles and responsibilities, so busy making sure everyone else is okay and what they need, that somewhere along the way you forgot about you and now you don’t even know what you need.
On the inside you’re wondering how you’re meant to fit it all in. But you keep going because there’s always something else to do and you just have to keep going.
You're exhausted. You get through each day because you have to and each day just blends into the next. Your mind is always on, always somewhere else, even when you’re body is still. Constantly going over what’s been done, what hasn’t and things that must be remembered. It’s gone on so long that this is now the default setting for your brain, a low-level frazzled.
Time is flying by and you're there, stuck on this hamster wheel of life, not knowing how to get off. Maybe even afraid to, because what if you stop and everything comes crashing down around you?The days run into each other, your mind stays busy, and somewhere along the way, your own needs slip to the bottom of the list.
You've got a full life, a full diary and a mind that hasn't gone quiet in months.
You book the yoga class and cancel it because you don’t have the energy to go. You go to bed exhausted and wake at 3am remembering everything you haven't done. You feel simultaneously relieved your plans got cancelled and guilty for feeling relieved. You keep telling yourself "when I get through this next bit, I'll rest" , but the next bit never ends.
You're not lazy, you're running on empty and somewhere along the way the idea of stopping started to feel more frightening than carrying on.

Why I built this
I spent 16 years working in frontline mental health and wellbeing and burned out three times on a four-year cycle, always convincing myself a new job would fix it, but it never did.
The wake-up call came from my 7-year-old niece. I’d taken a promotion at work thinking of the opportunities I could give her with the extra income. But one day she crossed her arms, threw herself back into her seat whilst looking me dead in the eye proclaiming in a whiney voice "My name is Charlotte and I LOVE work". It was in this moment that I understood what she saw - the absent, work-obsessed woman I'd become.
A seven-year-old had highlighted what I couldn’t see and wasn’t ready to admit to myself. I was modelling how to run yourself into the ground and I didn’t want this to be her normality. That moment was my catalyst for change.
Life Sparc was built from everything that came after it: the training, the healing, the discovering what rest actually feels like, and the deep conviction that we don't have to run ourselves into the ground to prove we're worth something.
You don't have to earn this.
Rest isn't a reward. It's not something you get when the to-do list is done, or when you've suffered enough, or when things calm down a bit. It's something you're allowed right now, exactly as you are. It helps us navigate this demanding modern world without losing ourselves.
If something in you recognised itself today, that's not an accident.
